Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyse project plans, specifications, and proposal documents.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs for asphalt, paving, milling, and related scopes of work.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals.
- Identify project risks, constructability concerns, and value-engineering opportunities.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate job conditions and confirm scope requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and leadership to ensure estimates align with execution capabilities.
- Communicate clearly with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and clarify details.
- Assist in handoff meetings and contribute to project planning after award.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in asphalt estimating or equivalent paving expertise.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational abilities.
- Deep understanding of asphalt, paving, milling operations, and industry pricing.
- Ability to handle multiple estimates simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office; experience with estimating software is a plus.
