Travel is Occasional. Must possess a valid driver's license and must maintain required car insurance.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education and experience requirements at this level consist of a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, a licenseto practice law in the State of Oklahoma and an active membership of the Oklahoma Bar Association plus a minimum of nine (9) years of legalexperience, including a minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory position.
Job Responsibilities:
- This attorney position represents both the agency and individual employees throughout the course of state and federal litigation as well as administrative matters and hearings.
- This position will primarily handle constitutional as well as civil rights actions with an emphasis on §1983 litigation.
- The attorney assigned to this position also provides daily advice and counsel to divisions within the Department of Human Services as well as supervisors and managers throughout the agency.
- The occupant of this position will be responsible for managing a full litigation caseload.
- Representation of the agency and its individual employees takes place in both administrative and judicial matters where complex factual or policy issues are present.
- This person also advises on law, regulations, and opinions of the court; prepares recommended guidance outlining facts and applicable law; and directs or acts as second-chair for all assigned cases from inception to settlement or judgment, including the filing of all necessary motions and conducting all discovery.
- Finally, this individual performs such other work as assigned by the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel and Litigation Section Chief.
- Active membership in the State Bar of Oklahoma, and at least 7 years’ experience in the practice of law, including 2 years’ experience in trial or administrative law is strongly preferred.
