Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our team. As a Psychiatrist, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to our patients, including diagnostic evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, and behavioral health interventions. Your role will involve collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of patient care.The psychiatrist diagnoses, prescribes medication, monitors side effects, and participates in the treatment process.
Duties
- Completes Psychiatric Evaluation within two weeks of admission and annually after that
- Evaluate all available clinical data (including laboratory and other instrumental reports) about the participant's physical status on admission and other occasions when needed.
- Performs clinical screening and referral of all conditions needing consultation from medical and non-psychiatric specialties.
- Facilitates program evaluation activities to oversee evidence-based practices' development, implementation, and sustainability of the Evidence-Based Practices.
- Reviews and follow-up treatment ordered by physicians.
- Reviews in the initial/follow-up Resiliency and Recovery Plan for each participant assigned, with special attention to all medical aspects of the plan.
- Review, approve, and sign all initial/follow-up Resilience and recovery plans and quarterly reviews of the assigned participant.
- Documents participant in progress notes.
- Explain medication and side effects to the resident or guardian at admission by reviewing the Patient's Medication Information (PMI). For each medication
- Obtain or review participants' or guardians' signatures on the Consent to Treatment with Psychotropic Medication at admission and annually after that.
- Prescribes follow-up and review of all prescribed neuroleptics.
- Reviews all non-psychiatric medical orders and prescriptions.
- Orders nonprescription first aid drugs (e.g., analgesics, antipyretics) as needed.
- Performs individual and group psychotherapy according to initial/follow-up Resiliency and Recovery Plan.
- Performs family evaluation and therapy singly or jointly with other team members, according to IPS.
- Performs crisis intervention (by telephone pager) for all participants during nonoffice hours as assigned, making daily reports to assigned Clinical Director.
- Consults and advises the clinical staff and Clinical Director.
- Provide vacation coverage as assigned.
