We are seeking an experienced General Manager to partner with the current GM team and ownership in leading a complex, high volume waterfront operation. This is a true GM level role for a seasoned hospitality leader who has successfully managed high revenue environments, large teams, and multi department operations. As a GM partner, you will share full responsibility for operational excellence, service quality, financial performance, and people development. You will work closely with ownership, the Executive Chef, and the Culinary Director to ensure alignment across FOH and BOH while driving consistent execution, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Operations and Service Excellence

Co lead daily restaurant, bar, and event operations across all service areas

Maintain a strong manager on duty presence during peak volume and high impact shifts

Set and uphold service standards that reflect Islander 71’s brand and guest expectations

Lead service recovery and guest resolution with professionalism and urgency

Ensure safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards are consistently met благодаря.

Training and Quality Improvement

Own training programs for FOHqatigiiff leadership and hourly staff, ensuring consistency and accountability

Develop, first to senior, implement, and maintain service standards, SOPs, and quality control systems

Conduct regular performance audits, floor observations, and feedback loops

Drive continuous improvement through structured coaching, retraining, and follow up

Partner with leadership to onboard, train, and develop managers and future leaders

Leadership and People Management

Lead, coach, and hold accountable managers, supervisors, and hourly team members

Oversee hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and retention strategies across departments

Manage performance feedback, corrective action, and disciplinary documentation

Build schedules that balance service excellence with labor efficiency

Foster a disciplined, respectful, and high performing team culture

Financial and Business Performance

Share responsibility for P and L performance, labor management, and cost controls

Monitor sales, labor, and operational metrics daily and weekly

Prepare and present weekly performance updates to ownership, including financials, labor trends, and action plans

Partner on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning

Identify opportunities to improve profitability without compromising guest experience

BOH Collaboration and Culinary Partnership

Work in close collaboration with the Executive Chef and Culinary Director to align service, execution, and staffing

Support BOH leadership with scheduling coordination, communication, and operational planning

Ensure smooth FOH and BOH communication during service and events

Partner on menu rollouts, seasonal changes, and execution standards

Collaboration with Ownership

Meet weekly with ownership to review financial performance, operational challenges, staffing, and priorities

Execute ownership initiatives and ensure accountability across the management team

Act as a trusted operational partner and leader within the business

Qualifications

5 or more years of experience as a General Manager in a high volume restaurant or bar environment

Proven success managing large teams and complex operations

Strong financial acumen with experience reviewing P and L statements and labor reports

Track record of building training systems and driving service quality improvements

Confident, calm, and decisive leadership style with strong communication skills

Hands on, lead by example approach

Comfortable with POS systems, scheduling tools, and operational reporting

Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Must be able to pass a background check
