GENERAL MANAGER

Dogtopia, the industry leader in dog daycare, boarding, and spa services has an opening for an energetic, organized, business-minded individual to lead our team as General Manager.

Are you an experienced leader ready to take full ownership of running a busy, fast-paced business? We are seeking a reliable, hands-on General Manager to oversee daily operations at our Dog Daycare. You will report directly to the owner, however, this is not an owner operated store, which means you must be comfortable making real-time, high-impact decisions every day. The ideal candidate has proven management experience in retail or hospitality (pet industry experience is a strong plus) and thrives when given true autonomy.

This role demands strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask under pressure, being comfortable navigating our CRM program, creating/managing the employee schedule, demonstrate exceptional customer service and train others to provide top customer service and ensure a great environment for the dogs in our care.

You must know how to lead teams of retail-style employees, handle last-minute call-ins or employee emergencies with confidence, and set the tone by leading with a positive, can-do attitude — while also being firm enough to hold staff accountable. What we need from you:

Team Management

• Help hire and build a successful team
• Create and monitor daily staffing schedules
• Maintain optimum staffing and development of all employees
• Leads by example by coaching all on contributing to a positive team-oriented culture.
• Assist with performance reviews and find creative ways to provide positive acknowledgements when due.
• Ensure team receives the appropriate training and continues to progress through training levels in a timely fashion.

Clean and Safe Environment

• Ensure our furry friends are always in a safe and clean environment and take pride in working as a team to get all the nitty gritty complete
• Maintain and update cleaning schedule, along with holding yourself and team accountable to the Dogtopia's safety and cleaning standards.
• Proactively monitor the actions of our pups, creating action plans for pups with minor behavior Issues to support client retention and recognize when dismissal may be the only option to keep our team and pups safe

Customer Service and Presentation

• Maintain a neat and organized Front Desk team and area at all times. This includes holding team to professional clean dress.
• Sets the example for the team on the 3 Ss (smile, story and satisfaction) and hold accountable to internal and external customer service standards.
• Keeps the team members engaged in their duties.
• Strive for high customer review ratings

Financial and Administrative

• Develop, educate and coach team to continually grow revenue
• Maintain controllable expenses within budgetary constraints including forecasting, tracking and ordering supplies, minimizing payroll, and actively look for ways to maximize efficiency.
• Communicate concerns or needs to franchise owner proactively and partnering after attempting to resolve issues.
