*Reports to:* High School Principal

*School: Addenbrooke Classical Academy*

*Overview: *Addenbrooke Classical Academy is seeking a full-time *Special Education Teacher*. This position reports to the principal. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for managing the students on IEPs and creating an environment with high standards in learning, creativity and personal growth in accordance with each student's abilities, while carrying out the mission and vision of the school.

*Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):*

* Manages their caseload of students on IEPs and completes all paperwork necessary in order to maintain compliance with state and federal requirements
* Gives formal educational evaluations and interprets that data
* Assesses students according to their IEP and progress monitors while keeping appropriate records and assessment data
* Leads IEP meetings and collaborates with all members of student’s IEP team including parents
* Communicates IEP goals and accommodations with regular education teachers and other staff members
* Develops and uses instructional material suitable for a wide range of learning styles
* Provides individual and group instruction in either a pull-out or push-in model determined by the IEP
* Communicates with parents through a variety of means
* Motivated and willing to teach and work with students with all types of needs
* Follows all policies and procedures established by the Addenbrooke Classical Academy Board of Directors and Administration

*Knowledge:*

* Experience using different formal assessment protocols
* Experience in writing IEPs
* Experience using Enrich or similar IEP programs
* Understanding of best practices in education

*Skills/Ability:*

* Experience or demonstrates understanding of the IEP process
* Experience or demonstrates ability working as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Ability to use proven research strategies in High School education
* Uses a variety of instructional strategies (e.g. direct instruction, cooperative learning, small group instruction, individualized instruction, inquiry) to engage students
* Uses a repertoire of assessment strategies to determine what students have and will learn
* Demonstrates experience in effectively solving challenging problems through a positive, collaborative approach
* Demonstrates initiative and skills in the following areas: relationship and community building, teachers as leaders, professional learning community model, effective communication, conflict resolution, creativity, problem solving, decision making and time management

*Experience/Qualifications:*

*Highly Qualified Status*

* Colorado teaching license with a Special Education Generalist Endorsement
* Familiarity with the school's charter and full agreement with the school's educational philosophy

*Start Date: *August 2026

Pay: $51,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
