The Special Project Department is seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Senior Install Mechanic who works with, trains on, and oversees individual installs and system changeouts. Senior Mechanics will utilize detailed plans provided by Project Managers and Estimators to accurately complete work on time.
Key Responsibilities:
* Performing various HVAC install related jobs on our commercial sites.
* Work within a designated team for commercial installation of duct, air handlers, chillers, roof top units, and other HVAC related equipment.
* Assist foreman and project managers with manpower, material, and forecasting of needs for assigned projects.
* Perform installation of copper refrigerant lines for VRF units including brazing, soldering, pressure check procedures, proper evacuation procedures, and refrigerant fill calculations.
* Proficient at all duct system installations from equipment through final GRDs, including low and medium pressure metal ducting, fiber duct, spiral, and various forms of category I-IV venting.
* Proficient at most duct system airflow calculations with Ductulator for equipment, ductwork, and GRDs.
* Ability to do duct and piping material takeoffs as required.
* Provide direction for fellow employees as needed.
* Accountable for communication between project manager and any sub-contractors.
* Sets an example in attendance, work performance, attitude, and ITL core values. Continuously represent the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters and concerns.
Qualifications:
* Five or more years of experience specific to the commercial HVAC industry.
* Ability to perform all trade related math calculations for proper installation of equipment.
* OSHA certifications beneficial but not required.
* Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations helpful but not required.
* Knowledge of A2L refrigerant and safe practices is highly preferred.
* Operating knowledge of HVAC systems and efficient use of hand tools.
* Increased abilities in understanding installation and operating control systems. xhqgsiq
* EPA certification required.
Additional Skills Required:
* Ability to lead small teams through complex system changeouts with minimal supervision
* Skilled in identifying and resolving installation issues before they impact project timelines
* Proficient in reviewing and verifying field conditions against project plans and making necessary adjustments
* Capable of coordinating effectively with contractors to ensure alignment with project goals
* Able to manage installation workflow and prioritize tasks multiple job phases
* Familiarity with documenting daily progress, material usage, and labor tracking for project reporting
