The Farmers Insurance - Christopher Schaeding Agency in Midland is seeking a motivated licensed Sales Team Member/Sales Producer who is driven by results, energized by business development, and ready to build a long-term career in sales. This is a fully in-office role designed for someone who wants to grow their income and career by developing new business and building strong client relationships.

This is a business development-focused sales position with a strong emphasis on outbound activity. The role includes consistent follow-up on warm leads, proactive outreach, and strategic cold calling to generate new opportunities and maintain a full pipeline.

The position offers a competitive base salary plus commission and performance-based bonuses, rewarding initiative, activity, and production.

You will work directly with agency leadership to learn the sales process, develop strong prospecting habits, and gain real experience growing a book of business. Candidates must have active Michigan Property & Casualty and Life, Accident & Health licenses, or be willing to obtain them. Free pre-licensing education is available for those who need it.

Responsibilities
  • Generate new business through heavy outbound sales activity, including phone, text, email, and virtual outreach

  • Conduct consistent warm lead follow-up and strategic cold calling to prospects, prior leads, and referral sources

  • Respond quickly to incoming leads, web inquiries, and walk-in opportunities to identify needs and close sales

  • Build and maintain a strong daily pipeline through disciplined prospecting and follow-up activity

  • Meet with clients in person, by phone, or virtually to review coverage and recommend appropriate insurance solutions

  • Educate customers on coverage options, risk exposure, and protection strategies

  • Develop relationships within the community through networking, local events, and referral partnerships

  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within the existing book of business

  • Provide ongoing service support, including policy changes, renewals, and basic claims guidance to maintain strong client relationships

  • Maintain accurate records of activity, pipeline status, and customer interactions within agency CRM systems

  • Stay current on Farmers products, underwriting guidelines, coverage options, and promotions

  • Consistently meet or exceed production, activity, and revenue goals

  • Collaborate with the agency team to share best practices and contribute to a high-performance, growth-focused environment

Requirements
  • Must be willing to work in-office in Midland, Michigan

  • Active Michigan Property & Casualty and Life, Accident & Health licenses, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe

  • Free pre-licensing education available for unlicensed candidates

  • Strong interest in sales, prospecting, and business development

  • Comfortable with daily outbound activity, including high call volume and follow-up expectations

  • Self-motivated, competitive, and goal-oriented with a strong work ethic

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the desire to take ownership of results and income

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage pipeline and follow-up effectively

  • Professional presence for in-person, virtual, and phone interactions

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or prior sales/customer service experience preferred but not required

Compensation Range: $50K - $60K
