Job Overview
The Director of Behavioral Health is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing the behavioral health services within our organization. This role requires a dynamic individual with extensive experience in various healthcare settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, and acute care. The Director will ensure the delivery of high-quality care to residents while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and promoting a culture of excellence among staff.
Duties
- Lead and manage behavioral health programs, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to the needs of residents, focusing on their mental and emotional well-being.
- Supervise staff, providing guidance and support in their roles while fostering professional development.
- Oversee documentation review processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care for residents.
- Manage medical records and maintain confidentiality in accordance with legal standards.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems effectively for documentation and patient management.
- Conduct regular assessments of program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to improve service delivery.
- Stay current with developments in behavioral health practices, regulations, and technologies.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and documentation review processes.
- Proven experience in nursing administration, nurse management, and supervising healthcare staff.
- Familiarity with MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments and Medicare regulations related to behavioral health services.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Proficient in using EMR/EHR systems for efficient patient care management.
- Strong understanding of shift management practices within a healthcare setting.
- Ability to develop effective care plans that address both physical and mental health needs of residents.

Pay: $125, $140,000.00 per year
