Nurse Director Behavioral Health Services

Job Overview
The Director of Behavioral Health is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing the behavioral health services within our organization. This role requires a dynamic individual with extensive experience in various healthcare settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, and acute care. The Director will ensure the delivery of high-quality care to residents while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and promoting a culture of excellence among staff.

Duties

• Lead and manage behavioral health programs, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement care plans tailored to the needs of residents, focusing on their mental and emotional well-being.
• Supervise staff, providing guidance and support in their roles while fostering professional development.
• Oversee documentation review processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care for residents.
• Manage medical records and maintain confidentiality in accordance with legal standards.
• Utilize EMR and EHR systems effectively for documentation and patient management.
• Conduct regular assessments of program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to improve service delivery.
• Stay current with developments in behavioral health practices, regulations, and technologies.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and documentation review processes.
• Proven experience in nursing administration, nurse management, and supervising healthcare staff.
• Familiarity with MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments and Medicare regulations related to behavioral health services.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
• Proficient in using EMR/EHR systems for efficient patient care management.
• Strong understanding of shift management practices within a healthcare setting.
• Ability to develop effective care plans that address both physical and mental health needs of residents.
• Exceptional communication skills for interacting with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders. This position is essential in ensuring that our organization provides compassionate, effective behavioral health services that enhance the quality of life for all residents.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125, $140,000.00 per year
