Overview

Leidos is partnering with the Department of Defense’s Military & Family Life Counseling (MFLC) Program to deliver digital health, data, mobile, and enterprise IT platforms supporting military service members and their families worldwide. MFLC operates a multi-platform environment consisting of cloud infrastructure, mobile devices, enterprise applications, data platforms, analytics, and security controls that must function as a single integrated system.

Leidos is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to serve as the technical authority for this environment, responsible for defining, integrating, and governing MFLC’s end-to-end architecture across applications, data, infrastructure, security, and integrations.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines enterprise architecture, system integration, security, and delivery ownership across the full MFLC technology ecosystem.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Primary focus to design and implement health IT solutions for Leidos’ federal health customers with a focus on interoperability with external and community providers.
  • Serve as the accountable technical authority for MFLC’s enterprise architecture across application, data, infrastructure, security, and integration domains
  • Define and govern reference architectures, integration patterns, and technical standards for all MFLC platforms
  • Architect and oversee solutions supporting PIC, SLA dashboards, finance systems, time sheets, mobile platforms, and analytics
  • Design and govern API-based, service-oriented, and event-driven architectures integrating multiple internal and external systems
  • Evaluate and recommend COTS, SaaS, and cloud solutions aligned to customer, compliance, and cost objectives
  • Lead the design, integration, validation, and fielding of enterprise-scale solutions
  • Ensure all solutions meet DoD, NIST, Zero Trust, IL-4+ cloud, and audit/compliance requirements
  • Develop architecture artifacts including system diagrams, data flows, security models, executive briefings, and roadmaps
  • Provide technical leadership across Data, Infrastructure, and Software Engineering teams
  • Perform cost, risk, and trade-off analyses to guide platform and cloud investment decisions
  • Partner with program leadership to ensure architecture supports schedule, budget, and SLA commitments
  • Resolve highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation.
  • Architect the integration of commercial products and software solutions to meet functional requirements while working within the constraints of the client’s IT and cyber infrastructure.
  • Effective communication style for leading daily engagement with external and internal stakeholders to facilitate project team’s efforts and remove roadblocks.
  • Development and implementation of modern Data solutions and architectures using Superset or equivalent BI Platforms.
  • Participation in Scrum sprint ticket fulfillment as required for data team, development, and Infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree with 12 - 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 - 13 years of prior relevant experience. Consideration will be given for years of experience without a college degree.
  • Must have advanced experience with C# and Microsoft .NET Framework, and experience with Git.
  • Must have advanced Linux administration and AWS architecture experience to include RHEL and experience with risk and defense strategy development in a Gov-Cloud environment, configuring and deploying AWS environments to include servers, load balancers, VPCs, etc.
  • Must have advanced experience with JavaScript, JS frameworks, and Vue.
  • Must have advanced knowledge with relational and non-relational databases, SQL, Kafka, Trino, DBT, and BI solutions such as Tableau or Superset, and defining data models, data governance, and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience with Identity and access management concepts, designing identity, access, logging, and audit architectures
  • Experience designing multi-system enterprise platforms spanning application, data, identity, and infrastructure layers
  • Experience building and governing reference architectures, integration patterns, and technical standards
  • Experience designing API-driven architectures and event-driven systems for cross-team integration
  • Experience supporting systems subject to DoD, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, or RMF controls and ATO accreditation packages
  • Experience designing enterprise data platforms (ingestion, transformation, analytics, and BI)
  • Experience enabling executive dashboards, SLA tracking, and operational analytics
  • Strong background in code review processes and architectural fitness functions to validate and maintain system quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud Architect experience (Amazon, Azure, OCI, GCP)
  • TOGAF or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification
  • SAFe or other Agile and Mission Software certifications
  • CISSP or CCSP (for cloud/security)

Pay Range

Pay Range: $131,300.00 - $237,350.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
