Requirements:Position Summary:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of scheduling functions within the EIC Information System (PHS). These functions include: coordinating/scheduling of Outpatient Imaging procedures, editing patient demographic data, answering scheduling telephone and interacting with physicians, patients, co-workers and the general public.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate scheduling of all imaging procedures to ensure department schedules run in an efficient and timely manner.
- Obtains and enters all scheduling information into the appropriate system; including accurate diagnosis, clinical history, special notes, insurance status, etc.
- Timely scheduling of STAT orders from physician offices, communicating directly with modality technologist.
- Communicates directly with Film Library regarding any film or report requests.
- Demonstrates proficient use of communication equipment and computer technology.
- Clear understanding and communication of all exam preps and times allocated to each procedure for every modality.
- Verifies demographic information and updates as needed in all appropriate systems.
- Communicates in a positive manner with physician offices and patients with respect to appointment status.
- Verifies exam scheduled matches exam ordered by referring physician.
- Works in conjunction with the Pre-Authorization Dept in the timely scheduling of examinations requiring insurance authorization.
- Answers telephone and responds to requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
- Adheres to radiation safety guidelines under the direction of the technologists and/or radiologists.
- Ability to manage high patient volumes
Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience: 1 year Scheduling Experience
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
