General Summary: Qualcomm Software Engineers design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and edge software, applications, and/or specialized programs that launch cutting-edge products. They collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system-level software solutions and determine performance requirements and interfaces. The Sensors team develops low-power embedded software to enable mobile applications such as multimedia, navigation, compute, IoT, wearables, VR/AR, gaming, health, and smart user interfaces. Qualcomm enables fusion of Sensors, Audio, Location, Camera, Bluetooth, WiFi for user and device context and personalization. Qualcomm seeks ambitious embedded software engineers to bring sensors technology to the mobile device market. You will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and commercialization of real-time embedded Sensors software within a dynamic group setting, working with cross-functional teams to deploy innovative features in various devices.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Embedded software development in C/C++
• Embedded real-time operating systems
• Experience in Linux/Android/Windows operating systems
• Experience with embedded software debugging tools
• Good understanding of software design and development process
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment
• Sensors technology
• Programming experience with Java, Python, etc.
• Understanding of digital signal processing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Applies software knowledge to design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs.
• Analyzes user needs and software requirements to design and customize software for optimal operational efficiency.
• Designs and implements software modules for products and systems.
• Participates in design and coding for large features, unit testing, debugging, and integration to meet specifications and schedules.
• Performs code reviews and regression tests and triages/fixes issues to ensure code quality.
• Collaborates with others inside the project team to accomplish objectives.
• Writes technical documentation for software projects.

• Works under supervision.
• Decision-making may affect work beyond the immediate work group.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills; may require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
• Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving, and prioritization are needed to complete tasks effectively.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$94,200.00 - $141,200.00

The pay range reflects the broad minimum to maximum for this job code and location. Salary is one component of total compensation, which may include discretionary bonuses and RSU grants.
