Software Engineer – Investment Systems

This role sits within a core technology group responsible for building the platforms that power a systematic investment process.

You’ll work on shared systems used across research, trading, and portfolio teams — taking complex investment ideas and turning them into reliable, scalable software. Technology is viewed as a competitive advantage here, and engineers are given real ownership over what they build.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys working close to the business while still focusing on strong design and modern engineering practices.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Designing and building features on a growing internal platform
• Developing and improving microservice-based systems
• Improving platform architecture, resilience, and performance
• Contributing to shared web and backend foundations used by multiple teams
• Partnering with other engineers and internal users to solve real problems

What They’re Looking For

• Solid experience building production software in Python or another OO language
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and system architecture
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, version control, and DevOps practices
• Experience working in cloud environments (AWS or similar)
• Familiarity with containers and orchestration tools
• Comfortable working with event-driven or message-based systems
• Clear communicator with a strong sense of ownership

Background

• Several years of professional software engineering experience
• Track record of building reliable systems used by real users
• Collaborative mindset and comfort working across teams

Experience in platform engineering, automated testing, or cloud certifications is a plus, but not required.
