Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support elementary school students in Detroit, MI, for the current school year on a contract basis. This role focuses on providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, fostering an inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic growth and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students unique learning goals.
  • Adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to create a supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure success.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid state certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in special education settings.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
  • Ability to use assessment data to drive instructional decisions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
