This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support K-8 students in a self-contained program designed to address their social, emotional, and academic needs. The program aims to equip students with coping strategies and skills to thrive in a regular education classroom environment.

Duration: Contract (CSY)
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: End of School Year (EOSY)
Hours: 37.5 per week
Days: 5 per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students social, emotional, and academic goals
• Collaborate closely with educational technicians, administration, service providers, and families to create a supportive learning environment
• Supervise education technicians to ensure effective support for student learning
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed to foster success
• Facilitate skill development that enables students to transition to regular education classrooms

Required Credentials:

• Valid State of Maine Teaching Certification (282) in Special Education
