Tasting Room Associate

Position requirements

• Delight our guests with exceptional customer service.
• Educate our customers about the winery history, winemaking processes & wines
• Provide inventory control and management for Tasting Room assets
• Assist with retail displays to maximize their impact
• Maintain a clean tasting room environment & ability to run through a daily checklist
• Assist with tasting room events (sales, setup/teardown, interaction with the customer)
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Tasting Room Manager or other winery management
• The ability to sell wine and wine club memberships
• Handle day to day operations on the cash register/POS system
• Assist with packaging up wines
• Have a professional, polished appearance and attitude

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of wine, passion to learn about wine. We will train in wine 101.
• Retail and hospitality experience/customer service skills
• Strong sales experience and ability to reach goals and up-sell
• Excellent oral communication skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs and stand for long periods of time
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Team player with an enthusiastic outlook and "out of the box" mindset.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test
• Previous winery, theater, hotel, restaurant, or event experience is a plus, as is familiarity with POS software.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

• This is a physical job in a winery/production setting that requires long periods of standing, walking, lifting, and steps.

Typical Schedule:

• Tasting room work requires evening and weekend hours, typically Friday-Sunday.
• Must be available to work holidays, as needed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
