Provide specialized educational support for a high school student who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing in the Atlanta area. This contract role involves delivering ASL II instruction to meet the student's graduation requirements, with hours adaptable to fit their schedule. This position offers the opportunity to uniquely impact one student's academic journey while working within a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver ASL II instruction aligned with graduation standards for a single high school student.
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to tailor educational approaches that best support the student's needs.
- Monitor and report on academic progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain compliance with all state education standards and policies.
- Support the student's communication and learning goals through individualized attention.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Georgia DOE Certification in Teaching Deaf or Hard of Hearing students is required.
- Experience with Deaf/Hard of Hearing populations or ASL instruction preferred.
- Familiarity with individualized educational plans and specialized instructional strategies.
- Ability to work effectively in one-on-one settings and adapt to student needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Location and Schedule:
- Position based in the Atlanta area, centered in Atlanta, GA.
- Contract duration: March 17, 2026, through May 22, 2026.
- Hours per week: To be determined to best meet the students academic schedule.
