TITLE: Tourism Development Director
Full-Time Position

DESCRIPTION: Plans, organizes and directs tourism operations; establishes administrative and communications processes and procedures. Directs and oversees development of the annual marketing plan; researches and solicits input from staff on creative strategies to improve, enhance and expand the services. Serves as staff to the TDA Board; develops agendas and oversees minutes of meetings; works with and recommends policies and practices to benefit tourism in the County; makes presentations and recommendations on tourism programs.
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in business management, communication, journalism, marketing or related degree, and 3-5 years’ experience in Tourism/Hospitality/Marketing field or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
LOCATION: Primary duty station for the position is the Yancey County Finance Office located in Burnsville, N.C.
SALARY: Pay Rate dependent upon education/experience.
