Location: Morgantown, WV
Unit: 2SE – Heart and Vascular Institute
Shift: 4x10 Days (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM) with required call
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with specialized experience in complex vascular, thoracic, and open/endovascular procedures . This opportunity is based in a high-acuity cardiac and vascular OR setting, covering a variety of advanced cases with a strong, collaborative surgical team.
Unit Details:
- 6 operating suites
- 14–16 cases per day
- Specialties: Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic
- Scrub color: Ceil blue surgical scrubs (hospital provided)
- Charge person daily; Manager: Kim Ramsey
- EMR: Epic
Key Responsibilities:
- Scrub on complex cardiac and vascular procedures, including:
- CABG, valve repairs/replacements (open and robotic)
- ECMO, transplants
- Thoracic resections (VATS, POEM, robotic/esophagostomy)
- Endovascular AAA repair, angiography, dialysis access, amputations
- Participate in weekday and weekend call (1 night/week + 1 weekend/month)
- Maintain 30-minute call response time (housing available when on call)
- Float as needed within Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI) services
Requirements:
- Certifications Required: BLS
- Preferred: NBSTSA Certification
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of surgical tech experience in vascular, thoracic, or cardiac surgery
- Proficient in both open and endovascular procedures
- Must reside 50+ miles from facility (verified by driver’s license)
- COVID-19 vaccination required (religious/medical exemption forms available)
- Must have housing and transportation arranged prior to acceptance
Additional Information:
- Self-scheduling model (Full-time, 40 hrs/week)
- Holiday call may be required
- Orientation: 1 week
- Floating: May float to other HVI service lines
