Unit Secretary

The Unit Secretary works cooperatively with all members of the health care team in performing clerical and receptionist duties and assists clinical personnel with nonclinical duties.

Department Specific Competencies

Acknowledges patients and family members as they come to front station

Answers patients call lights via intercom system and alerts appropriate personnel to patient's needs

Reports matters xhqgsiq requiring nursing intervention immediately

Requests hospital services for patients by placing calls to appropriate areas

Attends to call lights and ensures appropriate notification and follow through to personnel with pagers or voice mail

Participates in organizing, filing and or scanning all information in the patient's medical chart

Ensures the ordering of supplies required to maintain appropriate stock levels in the department

Compensation Range: $24.00 - $30.44
