I am seeking a position in Public Relations, Marketing, and/or Communications. In 2017, I was featured in Linda Pophal’s book, “21st Century Secrets to Effective PR.” I have an interdisciplinary education that combines computer programming and software knowledge, design, editorial, sales, marketing, and strategic public relations.

I have written for Forbes, PR Week, PR Daily, Cision, JET Magazine, Huffington Post, and numerous newspapers across the country. My last newspaper article was featured in over 300 publications across the United States.

Experience

Managing Editor (One West Magazine)—August 2017-Present

Accomplishments:

•       I moved the production of the print magazine from Santa Ana, CA to China, decreasing production cost by over 50 percent.

•       I had the publication listed by major PR databases including Cision and Media Bistro

I manage the editorial operations for both the print and digital magazine. This comprises: forming the editorial calendar, liaising with editorial, photography, design, and technology staff, scheduling interviews and events with publicists, being involved with the recruitment and training of staff, and creating and refining the cohesive voice of the publication.

Director of Communications (Fashion Week Los Angeles)—September 2016-September 2017

Accomplishments

•    I created an internship program where I recruited and trained over 50 college students to work in all sectors of the company.

•    I obtained media placements in Women’s Wear Daily, The Los Angeles Times, and the largest news publication in China.

Accomplishment: I recruited, trained, and managed 13 writers and editors

I served as the primary United States based liaison between the UK based publishing conglomerate Fish Media Group Ltd. I covered entertainment entities in the fashion and dance fields.

Adjunct Professor (Rancho Santiago Community College School District)—January 2014-May 2016

I taught at Santa Ana Jail through a contract with the school district. I taught GED subjects to transgender inmates awaiting extradition.

West Coast Correspondent (JET Magazine)—October 2014-March 2016

I wrote on topics of interest to black college-aged individuals for the Stomp The Yard Column. I covered everything from the importance of mentorship to applying for jobs.
